Step five. Conclusions on the readiness of a person wishing to adopt a child
If there are no circumstances that prevent you from being an adoptive parent:
* The territorial division of the Service shall immediately, but not later than within 1 working day from the date of the adoption of the decision on the initial assessment of the person, contact the foster care centre with certified persons of the Service in the person's place of residence, who, after having examined the submitted documents, shall inform you in writing (via e-mail) within 3 working days at the latest on the progress of the assessment of the person's readiness to adopt a child.
* GIMK training is not compulsory if you want to adopt your spouse’s child. However, the Service’s certified persons will organise one-to-one meetings with You and draw up a report on Your readiness to adopt a child. At the end of Your assessment, the Service’s certified persons will draw up a conclusion on Your readiness to adopt Your spouse’s child within 20 working days.
* The certified persons of the Service, after drawing up a conclusion on Your readiness to adopt Your spouse’s child, shall inform in writing the territorial division of the Service from which the request to organise the assessment of Your readiness to adopt a child was received.
* In the event of a negative conclusion on Your readiness to adopt a child, the persons certified by the Service will submit it to the territorial division of the Service and You will receive a copy of the negative conclusion. Once the reasons for the negative conclusion on Your readiness to adopt have disappeared, You can reapply for an assessment of your readiness to adopt a child.
